Redsox Softball

Redsox acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we train and play on, the Turrbal people, and pay respects to Elders past, present and future.

It is with a sad heart that our Redsox Family farewells Dale Gatz. Life Member #8 and a Club stalwart for many, many years. Condolences to the Gatz Family.

It’s that time of year again … time to celebrate the end of a softball year! Our ‘RED and WHITE CELEBRATION will happen at Windsor Bowls Club (69 Blackmore Street, Windsor-you can see it from the oval we train on) on SUNDAY 24th MARCH, 2024 commencing at 11.00am for a 11.30am start. Cost is: $10 adults and $5 for Under 14s, Under 12s and T-Ballers. A booking page will be made very soon to confirm numbers.  See you there as we celebrate great performances on and off the field!  

During the relaxed atmosphere of the BSA June Spice and Awards evening (summer edition), REDSOX was well represented in both finalists and winners brackets. Special CONGRATULATIONS to our two newest winners of BSA awards … the Leigh Muller Under 14 Award winner is: Georgie S. and the Under 16 Dave Trotman Memorial Award winner is: Kaylee S. What a talented family!

Other finalists in their respective age groups and grades were: Jemma C, Ty G, and Blake S (Under 12), Sophie H and Kyelar T (Under 14), Sam W and Kirsty D (B1) with Moe K and Dorinda S (June Spice Medal A1). Acknowledged in BSA representative honours were: Sophie Ev, Kaylee S and Georgie S who was voted the ‘Player’s Player Under 14’ too! Congratulations to all finalists and award winners from all our Clubs! A big well done and thank you to BSA’s volunteers for a successful ‘night on the green’! 

CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK to all Redsox and BSA players involved in the Aussie Women’s teams (‘Spirit’ and Under 19’s) who are competing against Chinese Taipei in Sydney in the next few days (1-5 March). Games will be streamed. Play hard Ladies! 

A piece of QUEENSLAND PATRIOT history will (most possibly) be made at the MEN’S OPEN NATIONALS in South Australia during the games 5 to 10 March. For the first time, 3 brothers will be on the field and in the batting line-up at the same time. Congratulations Goffers! Lots of Redsox Guys going to West Beach (SA) to compete in the John Reid Shield (Open Nationals 5th - 10th March). Good luck All! 

It was a big Tuesday night at Downey! Double header, one game down, then in game #2 a fight back started with a BIG hit over the fence by Moe  (final score = 9-8 win) and a surprise for all … it was Soraya’s 100th game for Redsox. Congratulations young Lady…   




Calling all men’s players for the coming BSA Men’s Winter season! Please have your nominations completed before 14th March - so we can supply team lists to Brisbane. More details include: season starts - 20th April, 2024/games played at the BSA’s Carina diamonds/Redsox are looking to have 2 men’s teams B and C. Instructions: The ‘sign up’ link is  found via Redsox Facebook page’s sign up button or via Instagram bio link. Fill in all the details and then hit ‘submit’. This will give us all the Guys wanting to play for the upcoming season. Don’t delay - sign up today!

CONGRATULATIONS to Queensland Under 23 Men's team ... National Champions and bringing home the Laing Harrow Trophy!!! It was a long, tense game against Victoria. They fought hard and were finally victorious 9 runs to 8. Our fellow Clubmates (8 plus the Coach) in the team did themselves, Redsox and Queensland proud. CONGRATS GUYS!

  CONGRATULATIONS to the Queensland Girls and Boys Under 16 teams – newly crowned 2024 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! Congratulations also to our own Lydia N who was assistant coach to the (girls) team. Well done to all … your hard work paid off! Both grand finals versus NSW - scores 9-2 (freaky!)


Congratulations to Redsox reps, Catie and Bianca, players in the champion Queensland Under 23 team. The Joyce Lester Trophy comes home (again)!


Congratualtions Kaylee ... 100 games in RED n WHITE... a great goal reached by one so young! 

                          CONGRATULATIONS CATIE! You’ve just played your 100th game for Redsox. A talented, young player with lots more games in ‘red n white’ in the years to come. We’re proud of your achievement just as you should be!

The Queensland Government provides a 'FAIR PLAY' voucher for children who play sport and it helps defray the costs of fees to participate in that sport. See if your child/children is/are eligible and apply, go to our 'NEWS' page for more details. This round of vouchers closes 4 October.

             Redsox Softball Club has added another prestigious person to our Life Members ‘roll call’.  Tanya Harding has become Life Member #28 in our Club and we are so proud to call you a member of our Redsox community. Thank you for your contributions to Redsox and also for all that you have done for softball in this country and for our sport on the world’s stage.
