BSA ‘working bee’ is on Saturday 14th March from 8am. Please drop in for an hour or so to help out … many hands make light work!
SAVE THE DATE! Put Sunday 22nd March in your diary… it’s our Club’s ‘RED and WHITE CELEBRATION’…. a time to celebrate our Club’s achievements at BSA and Redcliffe Associations! Proceedings will commence at 1pm at Windsor Bowls Club …. $10 per adult and $5 per junior. Some yummy nibblies will be supplied and the bar will be open. See you there!
The BSA summer season is over! Redsox had winners and runners-up teams on grand final day and a last game win for our Juniors too (the really littl’ ones don’t play finals). B Grade won their grand final vs Samford in a commanding batting and dominating ‘team effort’ performance to seal the victory. Congrats to Georgie Sabburg-MVP of the grand final! A Reserve didn’t fare as well going down to a strong batting performance by Panthers. Congratulations to all teams who fought hard all season and reaped the reward on the last day. Thank you Mother Nature for playing your part too! A few snap shots …. more details and photos on FB!
CONGRATULATIONS to all Club finalists and winners at the BSA Junior and Senior Awards Evening for 2025-2026. REDSOX was well represented in all our grades and we can proudly announce that:
Alyssa Schaumuller won the Under 12 Carol Vellnagel Award (BSA’s Junior MVP) and Kaylee Sabburg won the Kim Coooper/Michelle Waller A3 MVP. (Full list of REDSOX representatives named at 2025-2026 BSA AWARDS evening on ‘NEWS’ page)
CONGRATULATIONS to the boys and men who were selected in Softball Australia’s Under 16 and Under 23 squads! TRAIN HARD….
CONGRATULATIONS to our Christmas Hamper WINNERS! At approx. 4.20pm, on 13th December, we drew our annual hamper winners ‘out of a hat’: First prize to Michael L. (one of our Redsox men), second prize to Wendy S. (long time ticket buyer) and third prize to K.P. (a Panthers supporter). Enjoy all the goodies and the hams! And thank you to Everyone who supported our raffle - to all our girls, women and men who sold tickets. Your efforts are appreciated! Special thanks to our 'Hamper Organiser', Fiona too. Splendid job! Have a wonderful festive season with your Family and Friends and see you early 2026. Stay safe!
Another milestone! Congratulations to Kaylee… you’ve now played 150 games for our Club. You have grown up in Redsox and we have seen your tenacity, persistence and skill set grow throughout the years. You are a credit to your Family and your Club - congratulations!
It was a memorable BSA 60th anniversary (29th November)! So many ol’ players, officials and friends turned up to celebrate an enormous milestone for the Association. The ‘Noel Alvisio Room’ was jam packed with so many photos, memorabilia and softball loving folk …. ah, the memories! Many of Audrey’s family attended the celebrations and, to add a twist, they all came dressed in many of Audrey’s old uniforms! What a glorious romp down memory lane. Formal speeches and interactions over it was then onto the game…. the inaugural Audrey Mclaughlin AM President’s Cup was won by Bears over Saints (7 runs to 1) in a high quality game befitting the occasion.
It was Softball Queensland’s SEQ Junior Tournament time (8th November) with BSA hosting the grand event. We combined with Panthers to put a formidable team on the park, lead by 4 (there is one lady missing in one pic-she was playing a game) energetic Ladies. A great but tiring day was had by all as the team went through undefeated! Congratulations All !! Special thanks to Marty for the logo design, t-shirts, goodie bags for the players, our Scorer and to all parents, siblings et al for their support of the team. Thank you also to BSA for hosting and SQI... great initiative!
