At our recent Club AGM the 2025-2026 season Redsox Committee was formed. Congratulations, and many thanks to Clancy, Nicole, Shannon, Courtney, Fiona, Sandra, Chris and Corrie for taking on many roles and portfolios for the next 12 months. Many thanks also to outgoing Committee Member Matt for his many years of service and allowing the softball community to experience what great positive ‘social media’ connections are all about. We are indebted to you and your creativity!
CONGRATULATIONS REDCLIFFE! The WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Finals in 2027 will be held, ‘just down the road’, in Redcliffe.. yahoo!! Australia, who hosted the first edition of this most prestigious international women's softball tournament in Melbourne in 1965, will welcome the event again 62 years later. The Aussies won last time it was played on our soil… so here’s the Aussie Spirits time to attain glory once again. Congratulations Redcliffe!

Softball Queensland celebrated the 2025 Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday 19th July. Congratulations to all the nominees and award winners and especially to newly inducted Life Member, Yvonne Kahler. REDSOX is proud to announce that Alan Walsh was awarded Umpire of the Year and Riley James was named Male Athlete of the Year at the SQ dinner. Riley was also named in the recent WBSC All Stars Team at the Men’s Softball World Cup held in Canada in July. An amazing batting average of .500. Congratulations Riley!
Our annual Red and White Celebration is over for another year! Clubmates were recognised for seasons played and/or officiated, games played and individual performances!!! Balloons, trophies, certificates all made an appearance. See 'NEWS' page for Perpetual Trophy recipients. CONGRATULATIONS ALL!!
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!! At BSA’s June Spice Medal and Summer Awards Night (held ‘On the Green’ on 1st March) Redsox players and officials were heavily featured in the Association’s ‘night of nights’! During the balmy evening, we saw all BSA Representatives and respective Club Representatives acknowledged for their commitment to our game. On the Redsox side of the ledger, our recognised personnel were: Carol Vellnagel Junior Award Winner = Jemma C., Leigh Muller Award finalist = Georgie S., A3 Cooper/Waller Award finalist = Manda N., and A1 June Spice Medal finalist = Moe K. CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!
BSA thanked our Portfolio Member Chris B. for his dedication the BSA Scorers Committee. Redsox thanks the BSA Board members and volunteers who made the night so successful and a further congratulations to ‘Volunteer of the Year’ = Bern D. A well deserved accolade!!

Two junior games were played in showery conditions and then, just before the heavens opened and cancelled the rest of the day’s play (16th Nov), we saw a very special presentation. CONGRATULATIONS to Jemma C. who just played her 100th game for REDSOX. All the important folk were there to witness a great player and great Club kid receive recognition for this milestone. Yahoo!!
It was a ‘double surprise’ at the park (26th October) …. a liitl’ Champion reached a milestone and a returning (11 years in the process) player hit 100 games too! Yes, Georgie S. just played her 100th game for Redsox… what an amazing feat for one so young. Keep playing hard and keep smiling Georgie! And it’s been a while between games for Redsox but Courtney S. also reached a milestone. Congratulations on having played your 100th game Courtney!
